Q. What will happen at my first office visit? Will they do any procedures that day?
A. Your initial office visit will consist of getting a complete and accurate health history from you — including past surgeries, medications, allergies, illnesses, family history, and a discussion of current symptoms. The doctor will perform a brief physical exam, which may include a rectal exam depending on the symptoms you present with, but no endoscopic procedure will be done at that time as it is necessary to be properly prepared for a procedure.
